Madhumita is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution and Projects, Energy & Infrastructure practice groups of the firm. With over 25 years of experience in dispute resolution, arbitration, risk consulting, international contracts, service matters, gender issues (POSH laws), family laws and mediation, she has worked both in-house as well as with law firms. She has advised clients on a variety of commercial disputes and specialized in sectors such as shipping, ports, Inland waterways, aviation, mining, power, infrastructure, healthcare, retail, software, education, and insurance. She is an arguing counsel representing clients before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts and other judicial fora including International Commercial Arbitration. She has been a Senior Advisor to the United Nations International Seabed Authority and a Special Counsel of the Government of India. She is a member of the Bar Council Delhi, Delhi High Court Bar Association, New Delhi Bar Association, Central Administrative Tribunal Bar Association, Nainital High Court Bar Association. She holds a life membership with the Ocean Society of India (Observer status UNISA) and the International Council of Jurists London; Advisory Membership with International Council of Commercial Arbitration at the Hague, Netherlands; Member Global Leaders in Law; Associate Member National Maritime Foundation; Associate Member Manohar Parrikar Institute of Defense Studies and Analyses.
