HSA Advocates advised IFC and the Government of Bangladesh in relation to a healthcare facility in Sylhet, Bangladesh
HSA Advocates (HSA) acted as the legal advisors to the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Government of Bangladesh on the structuring and implementation of a public private partnership project in relation to the healthcare facilities to the elderly and a hospital in Sylhet, Bangladesh, through private sector participation (Project).
The Project would add to the operation of the medical and elderly care facilities in Bangladesh and under the structure, Universal Medical College and Hospital Limited (selected through competitive bidding) is required to provide medical and elderly care facilities to the senior citizens. The Project contemplates provision of medical services to a select percentage of the total patients nominated by the Government, at concessional rates. The Concession Agreement was executed on December 4, 2017.
HSA, as the lead legal counsel assisted in structuring the Project, drafting the Project documents, assisted in undertaking the bidding process and advising on the legal framework in the healthcare sector from an international best practice. Farooq & Associates, Dhaka, advised on Bangladesh law.
